American Flyer #23780 Gabe The Lamplighter Type 1 Dark Green Base, Very rare item ! This very desirable accessory was cataloged in 1958 and 1959. The cation of accessory was as follows. "Gabe" climbs the tower one step at a time, he reaches the top, and the four floodlights flash on and off, and "Gabe" slides back down the ladder. Another switch allows the lights to stay on. The black plastic controller had green, copper and red buttons, and is lettered "American Flyer Lamplighter" in white. Items, box, instruction and controller are all original.
