AMERICAN FLYER S SCALE SILVER COMET LOCO & 3 CARS Picture(s) and Description:

These items are part of an estate lot that has come to me to be dispersed. This auction is for an American Flyer S gauge Silver Comet set with #466 locomotive and #960 Baggage car, #962 Vista Dome Pullman car and # 963 Observation car. All of the cars are in their original boxes, although some of the box ends are missing. This train is of totally metal construction. Oddly the wheels on the cars seem to be a mix of black and silver pairs. Please look at the pictures and use your own judgement. What I can see is a bit of paint missing from one side of the loco and a few scratches and normal wear on all the cars. There are some patches of rust on some of the wheels and undercarriages. ? PLEASE READ!!!!! Because we have received a number of questions along the lines of "does it run (or work)?" we would like to re-iterate that we do not know and have no way of verifying whether any of these trains and accessories are in working order. Further, they should be presumed to have at least normal wear, along with some dust and/or rust, and that any abnormal wear will be described. Also, because we are not experts, we cannot always tell if these items are complete or what they might be missing. Take a good look at the pictures and feel free to ask. Because of all these considerations, we are starting these auctions at rock bottom and allowing the market to decide what they are worth. If you decide to bid on a locomotive or other functioning item, please consider what it's worth to you would be regardless of whether or not it works because, as we have already indicated, these items are being sold "AS IS" with no assertion that they are operational.
